I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and am working on a literature review of hospice programs and the successes and barriers associated with them in America. Can you tell me how this program is doing now, nearly 12 years later and is there literature on it available. Thanks!

I am wondering if there is a prison hospice program in the Washington DC area. I live in Silver Spring, MD and currently am a non-medical hospice volunteer through Hospice Caring.

Can you reccommend any resources for a client of mine currently incarcerated for first degree murder who has heard that in a period of one year, six family members have passed on, not including the cousin he shot while under the influence.

WOW,very interesting and enlightening….I am the survivor of a father who murdered his mother and her mother (my Grandma) in 1979. My father is serving a life sentence in an Ohio Correctional Facility. My father will most likely spend his last days in prison. I do keep in contact with my father. It took twenty-some years to get to that, but I have forgiveness in my heart. I will never forget, but I HAD to forgive, for my own state of mind and to bring peace in my heart. I appreciate this program and the dedication and love and caring these terminal inmates are receiving and to the ones extending their time and love and compassion. Thank you posting and thanks to my cousin (a novelist) for the exposure to this program. May Peace be with you all!

Have you heard of the prison hospice in Vacaville, CA? They have a great program there at their 17 bed hospice.
